Two performers explore the bone texture of a human skeleton via small contact microphones, the sound being electronically manipulated in real time. Blackout is a hybrid sound performance dealing with creative concepts involving sound, time, space, image and movement, the sound being generated by the handled object.
João Samões was born in 1970 in Lisbon. He studied anthropology, improvisation and choreography in Lisbon and New York.
He has been an actor, performer and playwright with the Olho theatre company and the Canibalismo performance /installation group.
In 2000, he created and performed the solo 18 MINUTES (it would be like a fire in a fireplace it has that attraction of something moving in a room while you think about something else). In 2004, he created the duet Zones of Noise Influence. In 2007, he premiered his latest creation The Labyrinth, Death and the Audience and the sound performance Blackout.
