Vera Mantero and Miguel Mendes were invited by Festival Temps d´Images to create one performance in which cinema and dance would be related.
The idea is to make a film about what will be the called “ richness of spirit “, its function, its meaning and, otherwise, to explore the utility and the inutility of the creative work.
The script will be created, based on two texts about this subject of two very known Portuguese writers: Herberto Helder and Maria Gabriela Llansol.
It is not only a documentary but also a fiction.
Beyond the fragments of the literary works and the speeches of both writers, the performance includes as well the perspective of two children that will answer to the same questions asked to Herberto Helder and Maria Gabriela Llansol.
Although, it will be a schizophranic and manipulating part in this work. Beyond the dialogue between two different generations, there will be a change of voices. Herberto Helder and Maria Gabriela Llansol will talk by the children’s mouth, and young ones by the writers’ mouth.
Imagine one space, one house and one time. Imagine two children educated to life, to the world by one woman. Imagine you would ask to those two children what they would think about the world, the existence, the unhappiness.
Children would be the mirror of the writers. Imagine their image would fly over the house and their faces would be the future faces of those children. In common the same thoughts, maybe more simple than you would ever imagined.
In this way, you would be manipulated by one game in which the documentary and the fiction would be related. |
