Vencer a Sombra

Synopsis

Shadow – a technical term that, in boxing training, means to confront an imaginary adversary, hedging and guarding, punching the air. Another type of shadow consists in correcting one’s posture when faced with one ‘s own reflection in the mirror.
Lisbon, 1994. Joaquim Silveira, 38 years old, ex-boxer of the Lisbon Rio de Janeiro Club. In this popular Bairro Alto collective, he trains various amateur athletes, who have been with him since he opened the youngest boxing school in memory in Portugal.

Kilandukilo

Synopsis

Kilandukilu/Enjoyment, two words, the same meaning, the name chosen for a traditional dance group from Angola. In 1996, they emigrate to Portugal in pursuit of a dream: to succeed as dancers and musicians and become famous throughout the world. For this reason, they abandoned their country, leaving behind their families. Not everything went according to their dreams.
