Synopsis

A man has been committed for years at the Fatebenefratelli hospital in Brescia. Finding himself there during the 180 Law (framework law which ushered in the end of mental asylums on May 13th, 1978), in a psychiatric hospital, there he remained, due to a lack of family support. He believes he will regain existence without any blame, believing he is a certain and important He. João, an exhausted nurse, promoted from stretcher bearer to the dignified position of Psychiatric Operator. A corpulent and decisive man, of average beliefs, and sincerely interested in how own work, which he performs with all the zeal and missionary spirit he is permitted by nature, crude but passionate.
