SynopsisMedo e Feminismos is part of the trilogy of performance presentations – O pessoal é político. In this performance presentation, two people, who reveal an archival knowledge of fears, stand side by side to evoke past, present and future fears; both autobiographical and not. Fears which transform themselves into sociological fears, into manifestations of the political control which is exerted on society; on people. Based on the internal conflicts of each performer, a fragmented presentation is built, enabling small acts of healing, whose aim is nothing more than to transform poison into medicine. In a nostalgic and personal manner, some of the most meaningful moments in the art of feminist performance are also evoked, followed by a personal reflection on the practice of feminism today. The presentation ends with the recreation of two 20th century feminist performances.

Teatro do Silêncio is part of Rede da Cultura de Carnide and Projecto Pulsar – Centro Histórico.
Maria Gil(Lisbon, 1978) Creates stripped-down shows based on the word, establishing a direct and close relationship with the spectators; her scripts have as their starting point, autobiographical premises and stories of people and places, which she gathers, intersects and fictionalizes, in order to construct a poetics of daily life. Her work evokes the periphery and marginality, but also vanishing people and places. She collaborates regularly with artists from various artistic fields, namely dance, music, the visual arts and cinema. She also works with several public and private institutions, conceptualizing, developing and directing educational activities and strategies which stimulate the imagination and thought.
(Porto, 1985) Completed courses Acting at the Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo (2000-2003), Visual Arts at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2006), Autobiographies, Life Stories and Artist’s Lives at CIES-ISCTE (2008), Archive – Organization and Maintenance at Citeforma (2013), and Sewing ideas at Magestil (2013). Through performances, drawings, photographs, video, music and artist’s books, Bonneville introduces us to autobiographical stories centred on the destruction and reconstruction of identity.
